The Museum collections are mainly made up of personal and official objects that belonged to Presidents of Argentina.
Among the most important items of the collections are the presidential Sashes and Batons representing the power and authority of their position. The most valuable sash is the one from the second presidency of Julio Argentino Roca whose sun, national coat of arms and tassel are made of gold thread, diamonds and enamel.
We can also appreciate Santiago Derqui’s presidential chair and the bronze ink pot sculptured at the beginning of the 20th Century by Lola Mora, which is used in the swearing in ceremonies. Another remarkable item is the book which stands out for its gold engraved covers with inlaid precious stones, a gift to President José Figueroa Alcorta from the Republic of Chile on the occasion of the May Revolution Centenary celebrations.
In the historical arcades carriages are exhibited, such as the Landau that President Julio Argentino Roca used, the Cabriolet-Mylord President José Evaristo Uriburu rode in and the Americana of President Hipólito Yrigoyen.
All exhibits convey a message that increases our knowledge of our past and of those who played the leading roles, thus recapturing for collective memory the testimony of the men who at some point of their lives ruled the destiny of the Nation.
